Labor & Employment Litigation Associate

Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor & Employment Litigation Associate with 2–5 years of experience to join a nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice in Houston. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work with regional, national, and multinational clients on sophisticated employment litigation, wage and hour matters, and trade secret disputes.

The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, exceptional writing abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in labor and employment litigation matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive litigation filings
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy
• Handle written discovery and discovery-related disputes
• Support all phases of litigation from case inception through resolution
• Assist with class and collective action wage and hour matters
• Work on trade secret and restrictive business practice disputes
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients on complex workplace-related matters
• Provide strategic advice and practical solutions to employers facing employment-related challenges

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of Labor & Employment experience
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Labor & Employment Litigation
  • Class and Collective Action Wage & Hour Matters
  • Trade Secret Litigation
• Strong motion drafting and litigation skills
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities
• Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage a complex and fast-paced workload
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Strong academic credentials
• Active Texas Bar admission required
