Job Details
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Provide legal counsel regarding discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, employee benefits, and related employment law matters.
Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, mediation, depositions, hearings, and trials.
Draft and negotiate employment agreements, severance agreements, restrictive covenants, and related employment documents.
Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
Advise employers regarding compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Lead business development efforts and cultivate client relationships.
Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff.
Collaborate across practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
Participate in community and professional organizations to expand the firm's presence.
Qualifications Needed
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active Maryland Bar membership in good standing.
Minimum 5+ years of Labor & Employment Law experience with a strong litigation focus.
Experience handling employment litigation matters, including discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage & hour claims.
Strong background advising employers on federal, state, and local employment law compliance.
Experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and severance agreements.
Working knowledge of EEOC and NLRB regulations.
Proven ability to develop business, cultivate client relationships, and contribute to practice growth.
Prior management or mentoring experience preferred.
Portable book of business welcomed but not required.
