Our client, a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative work environment, is hiring a Labor Relations Manager. This vital role is designed to strengthen employee relations and support the organizations ongoing efforts in labor management. The Labor Relations Manager plays a strategic role in managing employee relations across various clinical departments, including radiology, oncology, occupational and respiratory therapy, and all Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) excluding NPs. Reporting directly to the senior leadership, the manager will oversee key aspects such as fact-finding, addressing reasonable accommodation requests, and maintaining compliance with employment laws and HR policies. Responsibilities
Conduct fact-finding activities, assisting in resolving labor and employee relation issues.
Handle reasonable accommodation requests in accordance with legal and organizational guidelines.
Maintain knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA, LOAs, MLOA, and other HR policies.
Support the organization in compliance with labor agreements and policies, ensuring organizational fairness and consistency.
Collaborate with unions such as 1199, PTCC, and Doctors Council, while not being involved in bargaining decisions.
Mentor and train new team members, sharing expertise in employee relations and employment law.
Act as a key contact for employee concerns and serve as a liaison between staff and management.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor relations, employee relations, or a related HR field.
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline; relevant certifications are a plus.
Solid understanding of employment law, workplace policies, and employee accommodation processes.
Experience working with healthcare or unionized environments preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage complex employee issues.
Ability to handle sensitive situations discreetly and professionally.
Familiarity with union involvements, including 1199, and healthcare-specific labor policies.
Willingness to mentor and develop team members.
