Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Labor Relations, the Labor Relations Manager will serve as one of the primary day-to-day leaders for all labor relations matters in Tenet's affiliated California and Tennessee markets. This role will be part of a team that oversees labor relations across seven facilities in California and two facilities in Tennessee and will work closely with senior human resources and operations leadership.
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Labor Relations, this individual will help drive strategy and provide guidance on a broad range of labor relations matters, including collective bargaining, contract interpretation and administration, labor law compliance, and union avoidance.
This position offers opportunities for professional growth, with the potential to expand into a broader role supporting labor relations efforts across the United States.

Responsibilities
- Advise and counsel hospitals, market, and corporate office on labor relations matters.
- Manage collective bargaining negotiations and contract compliance at multiple facilities with a number of labor unions.
- Support market hospitals in all aspects of the grievance/arbitration process, including handling arbitrations or managing outside counsel in arbitrations, as appropriate.
- Manage preparation for, and the response to strikes and picketing, as well as other work actions by labor unions.
- Manage the response to union organizing when needed.
- Travel as necessary between seven facilities located in California and the two facilities located in Memphis, Tennessee. We will run an MVR on the final candidate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.
- 5-7 years of related experience.
- Experience managing outside counsel and consultants.
- Experience managing the grievance and arbitration process.
- Experience with union campaigns.
- Experience with union negotiations.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of labor and employment laws and labor relations.
- Possess research, analytical, organization, and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Ability to work independently as well as having strong interpersonal, organization, written and communication skills.
Compensation:
- Pay: $103,584 - $165,568 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 15% depending on role level.
- Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
