Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform specific laboratory tests following established quality control and infection control procedures.
- Schedule routine laboratory tests as required.
- Process and schedule laboratory tests ordered by medical staff.
- Locate, handle, and process specimens in accordance with quality control and infection control standards.
- Perform electronic recordkeeping tasks accurately and timely.
- File laboratory and related records in an organized and accurate manner.
- Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and documentation of all specimens.
- Communicate effectively with nursing and medical staff regarding laboratory needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure resident safety at all times while performing all job duties.
- Transport laboratory specimens to the hospital or designated laboratory facility when needed.
- Transport of lab specimens to the hospital when needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Certificate
- Must be proficient in English (reading, writing, and communication).
- Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Must maintain an excellent attendance record.
- Valid drivers license
- Must have access to a personal vehicle for job-related travel.
