Job Description: The technician will be responsible for handling and maintaining a variety of biospecimens, including blood, blood products, urine, and other bodily fluids. Candidates must be comfortable working with human biospecimens and following established laboratory and safety procedures.
Strong computer skills are required, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
Key Responsibilities
Organize participant biospecimens under the direction of the Biorepository Coordinator.
Track biospecimens throughout the collection, processing, aliquoting, storage, and distribution lifecycle.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to biorepository inventory.
Scan and track barcoded samples using inventory and tracking databases.
Assist with biospecimen distribution activities.
Clean and maintain laboratory freezers and related equipment.
Print and prepare labels for biospecimen processing.
Perform occasional heavy lifting as required.
Required Qualifications
Comfortable handling human biospecimens, including blood, blood products, urine, and other bodily fluids.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to accurately maintain records and follow established procedures.
Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting.
