Position Summary Now Hiring: Laboratory Assistant II - Blood Bank Orlando Health | PRN (As Needed) - 2nd Shift Laboratory Blood Bank Join Orlando Health's Laboratory team and play a vital role in supporting patient care through specimen processing, laboratory operations, and Blood Bank services. This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment. What You'll Do Receive, process, label, centrifuge, and transport laboratory specimens Support Blood Bank operations and specimen handling requirements Register patients and enter laboratory orders into hospital systems Process pathology specimens and assist with laboratory documentation Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance Provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and team members Assist with specimen storage, report distribution, and laboratory scheduling functions May perform phlebotomy if competency requirements are met Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Two (2) years of laboratory or patient care experience required Current students pursuing nursing, medical technology, pre-med, or other science-related fields may substitute education for experience Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills Ability to work flexible hours and thrive in a fast-paced environment Why Join Orlando Health?
