Location: Orlando Health – LAB MICRO/MOLECULAR

Schedule: 1st Shift – Full Time

Position: Laboratory Assistant II – ORMC Core Laboratory

 

Are you detail‑oriented, passionate about patient care, and ready to grow your healthcare career? Orlando Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to join our dedicated laboratory team and support essential diagnostic services that make a real difference in patient outcomes every day.

 

What You’ll Do

As a Laboratory Assistant II, you will:

Receive, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing

Register patients and enter laboratory orders with accuracy

Demonstrate strong knowledge of specimen collection and handling

Process pathology specimens while maintaining specimen integrity

Support patient registration and reimbursement workflows

Assist with laboratory quality improvement initiatives

Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas

Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, clinicians, and team members Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Assist with report distribution, filing, scheduling, and daily lab operations

Perform phlebotomy as needed (with approved competency)

 

What We’re Looking For

High School Diploma or GED Two (2) years of laboratory or patient care experience preferred Current students in Nursing, Medical Technology, Pre‑Med, or related science fields may substitute for required experience Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Flexibility to support departmental needs and varying schedules
