Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule:

  • Evening Shift – 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
  • 5x8 Hour Shifts
  • Schedule may vary based on department needs

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Laboratory Assistant for a travel assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy and specimen processing experience with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.

This role supports inpatient and outpatient laboratory operations through specimen collection, processing, and laboratory data management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen collection procedures for inpatient and outpatient populations
  • Process, prepare, and distribute laboratory specimens accurately
  • Handle laboratory data collection systems and ensure proper test ordering and cancellations
  • Support accurate charging and documentation for laboratory services
  • Maintain specimen integrity and follow laboratory safety procedures
  • Assist with non-technical laboratory processing tasks
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare teams to maintain workflow efficiency

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Laboratory Assistant experience required
  • Current Phlebotomy Certification required
  • Strong specimen collection and processing skills required
  • Ability to work effectively in high-volume clinical environments
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures required
