Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for a Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory testing and sample-processing activities for our client in Lowell, Arkansas.
This is an active, hands-on position responsible for loading and unloading washers and dryers with test samples, using liquid detergent, maintaining laboratory equipment and work areas, recording test data, and supporting senior laboratory personnel. The role requires prolonged standing, frequent movement, and bending to load and unload equipment.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
- Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Comfortable standing, moving, bending, and loading or unloading washing machines and dryers throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented testing procedures.
- Ability to accurately record observations, measurements, and test results.
- Basic computer skills and comfort entering or retrieving information using laboratory software.
- Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment and tools under direction.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with laboratory technicians, engineers, and senior staff.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field.
- General understanding of laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems.
What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
- Load and unload washers and dryers with laboratory test samples.
- Use liquid detergent according to established test procedures.
- Process laboratory samples and assist with basic testing activities.
- Build or adapt basic test setups and equipment as directed.
- Perform tests using general laboratory equipment and defined test plans.
- Record observed and calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
- Review test performance and sample operation to help evaluate results.
- Read and interpret test results, measuring instruments, and test data.
- Prepare charts, graphs, reports, and other documentation explaining test results.
- Examine test samples and review findings with supervisors and laboratory staff.
- Operate designated laboratory equipment and tools safely and correctly.
- Perform routine care and cleaning of test equipment and assigned work areas.
- Use computer systems to enter, retrieve, and maintain laboratory information.
- Read and follow blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operating instructions when applicable.
- Receive instructions from and report data to engineers and laboratory technicians.
- Communicate with customers during test setup and operation when directed.
- Develop working knowledge of laboratory methods, instrumentation, and systems.
- Incorporate continuous improvement practices into daily responsibilities.
- Follow all workplace conduct, physical security, digital security, and safety requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently bend to load and unload washing machines and dryers.
- Ability to safely handle laboratory samples and operate designated equipment.
Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $15 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
