    Description

    Overview

    Element Concord has an opening for a Laboratory Assistant (Sample Receiving) to support laboratory operations through the receipt, documentation, tracking, storage, and distribution of client samples in accordance with established procedures and quality system requirements. This role is responsible for maintaining sample integrity and chain of custody, accurately entering sample information into laboratory information management systems (LIMS), coordinating sample logistics, and preparing samples for testing. The Laboratory Assistant also supports inventory control, sample retention and disposal activities, and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, quality, and data integrity standards. Working closely with laboratory personnel and clients, this position contributes to efficient laboratory workflows by providing timely, accurate, and organized sample management support.

    $28hr-$30hr DOE

    Responsibilities

    • Complies with cGMP ISO 17025:2017 and company policies as required
    • Receive, inspect, and accession incoming samples.
    • Accurately enter sample information into laboratory databases and LIMS.
    • Maintain sample traceability and chain-of-custody documentation.
    • Organize, store, and retrieve samples under appropriate conditions.
    • Distribute samples to laboratory departments for testing.
    • Prepare samples and documentation for shipment or subcontracted testing.
    • Manage sample inventories, retention, and disposal activities.
    • Maintain accurate records in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
    • Communicate with clients and laboratory personnel regarding sample status and discrepancies.
    • Ensure sample receiving and storage areas remain organized and compliant with safety standards.
    • Assist with general laboratory and administrative tasks as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Skills / Qualifications

    • A minimum of a High School Diploma, Bachelors degree in a science field preferred. The position level will depend on the years of experience but requires 0-1 year of industry experience.
    • Excellent organizational skills along with strong attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions and work as a team member. Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to complete projects. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work legally in the US.
    • Ability to work in a desk setting.
