Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION: The part-time Laboratory Coordinator, Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) Program, coordinates the daily operations of the CNA clinical skills laboratory by preparing and maintaining lab spaces, equipment, supplies, and instructional materials. The position assists students during practice sessions, maintains documentation, ensures compliance with safety requirements, and collaborates with faculty to support effective laboratory instruction.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Coordinates daily activities and operations of the CNA clinical skills laboratory to support scheduled instructional labs, student practice sessions, and competency evaluations.2. Prepares and maintains the CNA laboratory environment, including setting up skills stations, organizing patient care areas, changing linens, cleaning, and restoring the lab following instructional activities.3. Ensures availability, organization, and proper functioning of CNA laboratory equipment, mannequins, supplies, and instructional materials.4. Monitors laboratory inventory levels, maintains appropriate stock of supplies, and coordinates ordering of materials as needed.5. Assists students during scheduled laboratory practice sessions by providing guidance on equipment use and CNA skill activities under faculty direction.6. Maintains records and documentation related to laboratory usage, equipment maintenance, inventory, and student competency activities.7. Ensures laboratory activities follow institutional policies, safety procedures, and applicable CNA certification requirements.8. Collaborates with CNA faculty and program staff regarding laboratory scheduling, equipment needs, supplies, and operational support.9. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. High School or GED 2. Two (2) years of experience working in a healthcare setting, CNA education/training environment, or related clinical field.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Associate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited in Nursing, Allied Health, or a related field.2. Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:1. Knowledge of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) clinical skills, procedures, and training requirements.2. Knowledge of CNA instructional equipment, mannequins, supplies, and simulation materials.3. Knowledge of inventory management practices, including tracking, storage, and replenishment of laboratory supplies.4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.6. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.7. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.8. Committed to working in a multicultural environment.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:1. Works in a classroom/laboratory setting.2. Hours will vary (days, evenings, weekends).3. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform physical activities associated with preparing and maintaining laboratory and workshop areas.4. Ability to push, pull of equipment, carts, materials, and other items used in laboratory.5. Must be able to lift, move, carry, and arrange equipment and mannequins up to 30 pounds with assistance.
