Description

Jackson State University invites applications for a full-time Laboratory Coordinator position in the Department of Chemistry, Physics, and Atmospheric Sciences.

Examples of Duties

• Organize and make preparations for laboratory supplies, upgrades, improvements, and purchasing and maintenance
• Assist faculty members with preparing solutions and equipment for labs, stockroom upkeep, inventory, waste disposal, and safety records.
• Equipment maintenance including DI water supply and other instructional lab needs.
• Oversee departmental inventory.
• Other duties assigned.

Typical Qualifications

• MS in Chemistry or closely related field with one year of experience in laboratory safety and maintenance issues.
• PhD applicants: one year experience not required.
