About the Opportunity

Join a well-established manufacturing team in St. Charles, IL as a contract Laboratory Extrusion Technician supporting materials development and sample preparation.

Location: St. Charles, IL
Compensation: $24.00/hr
Schedule: 1st Shift — Monday–Thursday 7:30am–5:00pm; Friday 8:00am–12:00pm
Engagement: Contract (April–September, 6 months)

A Day in the Lab

You arrive, review the day’s run plan, and prepare the lab extruder for a series of development trials. You’ll set up tooling, verify material specifications, and document parameters before producing high-quality samples. Through the day you’ll switch between extrusion, grinding, and spraying to create test pieces, and you’ll use bonding mixers to produce metallic samples for bonding trials. While equipment runs, you’ll keep a close eye on quality indicators and machine performance, flagging and reporting any abnormalities. When a run completes, you’ll follow lockout and clean-down procedures to disassemble and sanitize equipment, then log data in basic computer systems. Your focus throughout: safety, precision, and keeping the lab organized and production-ready.
