Laboratory Information Systems Analyst - Blood Bank

Full-time, 40 Hours/week

Days, 8AM-4:30PM

Must reside in Ohio at the time of hire. This is a remote position; however, occasional onsite presence may be required based on business needs.

Summary:

The Laboratory Information Systems Analyst is responsible for assisting the LIS Manager with the daily operations of the laboratory information system and its smooth integration into all departmental workflow patterns.

Responsibilities:

• Is responsible for assisting the LIS Manager with the daily operations of the laboratory information system and its smooth integration into all departmental workflow patterns.

• Shares responsibility for the integration of changes, upgrades and enhancements, laboratory equipment and hospital interfaces.

• Is responsible for the Soft Path module. (Includes AP, Molecular, and Cytogenetics).

• Assists with hardware and software support to maximize efficiency and maintain minimal downtime.

• Shares in 24x7 coverage responsibilities.

• Oversees, monitors, and maintains Pathology module of LIS.

• Assist the LIS Administrator with the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

• Modifies & maintains LIS software as assigned by the LIS Administrator.

• Shares the daily and long-term operations of the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

• Maintains LIS hardware devices & interfaces.

• Demonstrates scientific knowledge of testing principles, analytic procedures and their results.

• Performs tasks efficiently and maintains work area.

• Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• Experience in laboratory medicine is required.
• Experience creating, reviewing, and summarizing management documents is required.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

• Education: Bachelors of Science degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
• Certification: Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist level with the American Society for Clinical Pathology [ASCP] is required.
• Years of experience: 0 to 2 years is preferred.
• Years of experience supervising: None
