Your impact
In this Midwest-based role, you’ll be the on-site expert who ensures analytical and metallographic instruments are installed correctly, maintained proactively, and restored quickly when issues arise. Your work enables customers across Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky to deliver reliable results, day after day.
Role highlights
- Full-time, remote, salaried position with frequent travel
- Most weeks include customer-site work up to 5 days; additional travel as needed
- Primary coverage: IN, IL, OH, KY; occasional trips to surrounding regions
- Preferred residence near Indianapolis, IN
- $5,000 signing bonus
Key outcomes
- Reduce downtime by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and corrective actions
- Accelerate productivity through expert installation of new instruments, updates, and upgrade kits
- Elevate user confidence by training customers on theory, operation, software, and care
- Protect quality by aligning all service work with LECO’s ISO accreditation
- Strengthen partnerships as a professional, customer-facing representative
What you’ll bring
- Driven communicator who is comfortable working independently
- Respect for every facility’s safety and site protocols; polished, professional demeanor
- Organized, detail-oriented approach to scheduling, parts, and documentation
- Ability to travel daily with up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday – Friday)
- Valid driver’s license; clean driving record
- Personal credit card, or ability to obtain one
- Mechanical strength and familiarity with AC/DC electronics, or a fast-learning mindset
- Bonus background: chemistry or military
Growth and training
- 3–5 months of instrumentation training at LECO headquarters in St. Joseph, MI
- Hands-on field immersion with seasoned Field Service Engineers across the U.S.
- Annual service training at headquarters to stay current
Education/Certifications
- Two Year Technical Degree or Trade School
- Prior Military with training in a technical field
- Equivalent work experience or training in a technical field
