IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Laboratory Night Shift Lead position at its facility in Gaffney, SC.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

A BS or BA in the biological sciences or related field (required)

1+ years of experience as a laboratory analyst (required)

1+ year of experience as a supervisor or lead in a laboratory setting (preferred)

Customer service experience (required)

Thorough understanding of laboratory procedures and operations (including a strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with data entry and computer applications

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Able to regularly lift and manipulate up to 45lbs

The Night Shift Lead position involves overseeing of the night shift staff as well as general duties including but not limited to the following:

(i) Analysis on foods and environmental samples; (ii) quality control analyses; and (iii) preparation of media

Evaluation and approval of analytical results, including ensuring that work is completed in a timely manner

Assisting in carrying out sample management procedures from receiving through final disposal

Serving as customer interface and maintaining positive relationships with customers as needed

Assisting in ensuring that the lab maintains ISO 17025 and USDA accreditations

Assisting in maintaining laboratory systems and equipment

Assisting with training and evaluating night shift laboratory staff

Delegating daily work assignments

Maintaining communication with Laboratory Coordinator

This is a full-time position in which the employee will be eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 11:00pm to 7:30am.
