Required Skills / Certifications / Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital clinical laboratory setting.
- Experience with macroscopic description of gross anatomic features.
- Proficient in gross examination and dissection of large/complex specimens and small biopsies.
- Ability to prepare tissues for histological processing and sectioning surgical pathology and specimens.
- Experience in specimen fixation, receipt, and labeling.
- Capable of evisceration and preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination.
- Skilled in obtaining and reviewing patient clinical information (e.g., scans, x-rays, lab results).
- Experience in tumor triage and conducting adult and fetal autopsies.
- Certification: ASCP - PA
Preferred Skills / Certifications / Experience
- Experience in specimen accessioning and cutting/staining frozen sections.
- Proficient in postmortem examinations and removal of brain and spinal cord.
- Skilled in gross/microscopic photography.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Job Details
- Shift: 5x8 DAYS, 0800-16:30, Monday-Friday.
- 40 hours per week offered.
- Accepting 16-week contracts.
- No call, float, or weekend requirements.
Unit Systems
- Medication, Documentation, Communication: EPIC
Unit Orientation
- 8 hours of unit orientation.
- Hospital orientation during the first week; availability for classes each day is required.
