Job Summary and Qualifications

The Laboratory Assistant receives and processes specimens and carries out basic laboratory procedures. Additionally, there are required clerical tasks such as greeting patients, informing them of the procedures, answering phones and emails, and maintaining records. Schedule: Must have availability to help with early morning draws, 1am to 6am shift and 1am to 1pm shift. Must be able to pick up minimum 1 shift per week as available.

What you will do in this role:  

  • You will accurately identify and label. 
  • You will prepare specimens for analysis and testing. 
  • You will unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas. 
  • You will process all necessary paperwork for submitted specimens. 
  • You will perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.  

What Qualifications You Will Need: 

  • Phlebotomy certification by ASCP and/or NCA highly desired 
  • Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience. Must have current experience and worked in the phlebotomy field within the last 3 months.
