Laboratory Processing Technician - Full Time, 2Nd Shift

LABORATORY PROCESSING TECHNICIAN - FT

This is a full-time processing technician position in the Clinical Laboratory. 

SUMMARYPerform laboratory specimen processing consisting of receiving, sorting, assessing, and distributing specimens of blood, urine, stool, and other biological fluids as well as pathological samples. Performs moderately complexity lab testing as needed (if applicable) and may be crossed trained in minor histological procedures.

• MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED• Bachelor's or associate degree in laboratory science preferred but not required.• High school diploma or the equivalent is required.• Recent training and experience in laboratory technology strongly preferred.• Must be able to communicate and effectively exchange information with laboratory staff, nursing staff, physicians, physician office staff, patients, patient’s families, other customers, and guests.• Requires judgment including prioritizing tasks according to medical urgency, efficiency, and good guest relations skills.• Stroke education is required. Refer to Administrative Policy A-148 for specific education requirements.
