Processing TechnicianRequired Education: High school diploma or equivalentRequirements:1+ year of relevant laboratory, sample processing, manufacturing, agricultural, or related experience preferred/requiredStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate sample identification and documentationAbility to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet daily processing requirementsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamProficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and related applicationsAbility to follow established laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and workplace policiesComfortable handling and processing laboratory and forage samplesWillingness to work with samples that may contain common allergens, including milk, peanuts, eggs, tree nuts, soy, gluten, fish, and shellfishLaboratory & Safety Requirements:Must wear appropriate leather shoes in the laboratory; contractors are responsible for obtaining compliant footwear before the start dateContact lenses are not permitted while working in the laboratoryA clean-shaven appearance may be required when performing duties involving respirator useMust consistently follow laboratory safety, housekeeping, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirementsOverview:The Processing Technician will support the Rapid Analysis Department in Elk River by managing laboratory samples, maintaining document retention systems, and assisting with sample preparation and forage analysis. This role involves hands-on laboratory processing, including sample grinding, weighing, labeling, and NIR scanning, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Responsibilities:Manage the daily receipt, organization, processing, and tracking of laboratory samplesMaintain accurate sample labeling, identification, documentation, and retention recordsPrepare samples for analysis, including grinding, weighing, and other required preparation activitiesPerform NIR scanning and assist with forage sample analysis according to established proceduresEnsure samples are processed accurately and efficiently while meeting departmental timelinesMaintain organized laboratory work areas and perform routine housekeeping activities to support a clean and safe environmentFollow all laboratory safety procedures, workplace policies, and applicable operating proceduresUse Microsoft Office 365 and related systems to maintain records, documentation, and communicationsCommunicate effectively with processing team members and other departments regarding sample status, issues, and prioritiesIdentify and communicate sample-processing issues or discrepancies to the appropriate team membersPrioritize daily workload and adjust activities as needed to meet processing requirementsSupport the Processing Team with additional laboratory and sample-related activities as assignedMaintain a professional, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment**Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.** **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client's business needs and requirements.**
