Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Laboratory/QA Technician III to join a collaborative product testing and quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a manufacturing, quality, R&D, construction materials, or laboratory background who enjoys hands on testing, troubleshooting, problem solving, and improving processes.
In this role, you will evaluate product samples and claims, conduct laboratory testing, analyze results, and help identify potential manufacturing or performance issues. You will also play an important role in maintaining laboratory operations, improving testing procedures, supporting safety initiatives, and mentoring junior technicians.
• Conduct product and claim evaluations to identify manufacturing and performance characteristics
• Perform laboratory testing according to established procedures and accurately document results
• Support root cause investigations and communicate findings clearly to technical and business teams
• Partner with Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Warranty, and Field Service teams to resolve product related issues
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, workflow, efficiency, and laboratory procedures
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Develop and improve test methods, Standard Operating Procedures, and Job Safety Analyses
• Help organize daily laboratory workflow and prioritize incoming testing requirements
• Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and new team members
• Maintain accurate testing, maintenance, calibration, and safety documentation
• Ensure laboratory activities are performed safely and in accordance with established procedures
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Quality, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field
• 2+ years of hands on experience in a manufacturing, R&D, quality, testing, or laboratory environment
• Experience with product testing, quality control, root cause analysis, or product development
• Experience with construction materials, building products, roofing, or related manufacturing environments is highly desirable
• Working knowledge of engineering, science, manufacturing, and quality fundamentals
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while maintaining strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Working knowledge of Excel and laboratory documentation
• Understanding of laboratory and workplace safety practices, including SDS documentation
