Advertising/Posting Title Laboratory/Research Technician Posting Summary
This role will conduct laboratory experiments and provide general laboratory support in the field of cancer biology and DNA repair. Experiments are centered on using molecular biology techniques such as tissue culturing, gene/protein expression analysis, high throughput sequencing analysis, and other related methods. Plan and conduct day-to-day experiments under the direction of the laboratory supervisors. Perform general lab support to include preparation of solutions, glassware, and consumable plastics, inventory of supplies, and equipment maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, or related fields and one to three years of laboratory experience required. Commitment to diversity and inclusion required.
Desirable Qualifications
Additional training in tissue culturing molecular biology techniques including modifying cell lines using CRISPR/CAS9 (either academic or industrial) is highly desirable. Experience in measuring mutation rates and generating spectra in model systems would be beneficial.
