KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assesses the quality and quantity of incoming patient specimens.
- Performs accurate data entry and sample labeling.
- Troubleshoots specimen issues by identifying, documenting and correcting specimen discrepancies within Logistics, Accessioning and Problem Hold.
- Documents specimen quality issues; takes appropriate action to ensure proper specimen handling, accept and reject specimens based on laboratory standard operating procedures.
- Communicates specimen issues to Client Services' Management such as compromised specimens, insufficient specimen quantity and mislabeled specimens.
- Performs quality control checks for the accuracy of labeling of slides.
- Receives, verifies, prioritizes and facilitates the delivery of patient specimens and information to the designated laboratory departments or locations.
- Follows the procedure for tracking of specimens in and out of specimen storage.
- Safely packages and accurately prepares shipping documents to send patient results and materials to the client.
- Responsible for completing assigned tasks in MasterControl within the required timeframes.
- Follows written and verbal communications.
- Organizes and maintains a clean work area and inventory of supplies.
- Records daily cleaning.
