Description
The Technology and Innovation (T&I) organization within Celanese is hiring a Laboratory Supervisor for the Evansville manufacturing site. This role will be the administrative lead for the quality control lab, overseeing a team of seven.
The Laboratory Supervisor will engage directly with the Evansville leadership team, manufacturing operations, and technicians to ensure seamless workflow, adherence to standards, and consistent delivery of high-quality results. Additionally, the Supervisor will join a global network of other Supervisors within the T&I organization to promote standard work processes, best practices and improvements related to laboratories. Responsibilities
Ensure current safety and work processes are implemented and effective.
Collect and review laboratory data. Make improvements based on laboratory performance metrics.
Work directly with site leadership team to resolve laboratory testing, staffing or quality concerns.
Lead and investigate laboratory related Incidents / Variances/ Customer Complaints (Conduct Problem Solving Sessions – Root Cause Failure Analysis).
Lead and participate in laboratory improvement projects.
Promote a positive and inclusive culture.
Set priority and workflow for the laboratory team.
Resolve any conflict or issues within the laboratory team.
Ensure laboratory compliance with ISO and IATF requirements.
Define and communicate capital requests to the site.
Setting and maintaining the shift schedule for the laboratory team.
Timecard management for the laboratory team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry) preferred
Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience required
Experience within manufacturing industry and/or laboratory processes preferred
Strong people leadership skills including effective change management, the ability to listen, to communicate, and to relate well to others;
