Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory/Technical Assistant for the Covey Lab in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience - School of Arts and Sciences (SAS).

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Performs experimental design and execution: basic molecular biology and immunological experiments.
• Performs animal care and breeding: carries out mouse care and breeding.
• Performs general lab maintenance.

FLSA Nonexempt Salary Details $25.00 - $27.00 per hour Offer Information

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Willingness to learn new techniques and an interest in experimental science.
• Detail-oriented and a strong work ethic.
• M comfortable with basic cell culturing techniques.
• Ability to perform basic lab maintenance.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• General computer skills (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous lab experience preferred.
