JOB TITLE: Quality Control Lab Technician I

SUMMARY

Responsible for performing and ensuring the testing of in-process material and final product is in accordance with 9CFR, USDA outlines of Production and Cambridge SOP's, to facilitate timely release of in-process materials and final product. Responsible for maintaining accurate disposition of all in-process samples, final product samples, and including reserve samples. Communicates regularly with QA department, manufacturing, and customer service departments to achieve on-time delivery of Quality Vaccine to our customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures USDA regulatory compliance regarding testing and related information.
  • Performs accurate and proper testing and reporting.
  • Animal handling, husbandry and perform USDA animal safety procedures.
  • Data collection/management such as spread sheets collecting test/product information.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date test records and supporting information.
  • Attention to detail. Communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to calculate and apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Prepare and organize laboratory supplies and sample storage areas.
  • Ability to read and interpret any company policies/documents.
  • Ability to write/modify SOPs, write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve.
  • Demonstrates good judgement and discission making skills.
  • Assist in implementing new test methods.
  • Supports QA department in compliance efforts.
  • Works safely. Abides by and promotes all safety policies and procedures.
  • Teamwork. Must be able to work as a team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience of 3+ years working in a Quality position in a manufacturing setting is preferred. Vaccine products/industry experience is a plus. However, we are willing to train a candidate with other applicable quality experience.
