Description

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Burlington, MA. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Title: Testing Technician
Location: Burlington, MA
Pay Rate: $28/hour
Duration: 12 months

Job Description

  • Support coffee and powder beverage product development, productivity projects, and commercialization activities.
  • Prepare prototypes and formulations; perform benchtop experiments, analytical testing, and sensory evaluations.
  • Manage daily product development laboratory operations, including sample/ingredient handling, lab organization, and workflow.
  • Execute shelf-life studies, product pulls, tasting records, and stability evaluations.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration, servicing, inventory, and procurement activities.
  • Maintain experimental records, test results, data integrity, and traceability.
  • Apply laboratory safety, food safety, GLP, and quality practices.

Education

  • Associate degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field.
  • 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience may substitute for an associate degree.

Required Skills

  • 3–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Beverage or food product development laboratory experience.
  • Prototype formulation and benchtop experimentation.
  • Analytical testing and sensory evaluation.
  • Shelf-life and product stability studies.
  • Laboratory operations and inventory management.
  • Laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • GLP, food safety, and quality assurance practices.
  • Laboratory documentation, data integrity, and traceability.
  • LIMS and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Skills

  • Coffee product development, including roasting, grinding, and beverage flavoring.
  • Food and beverage R&D laboratory management.
  • Powder beverage formulation and liquid flavoring.
  • Experience supporting commercialization and new product development.
  • Manufacturing environment exposure.
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
