Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Lab Operations Technician!
**Position Summary:
**The Lab Operations Technician plays a key role in supporting day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring equipment is ready for use, and maintaining a clean, organized, and professional environment. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. You’ll be responsible for handling materials, preparing equipment for testing, and supporting both internal teams and visiting customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes to safely move and stage materials
- Load, unload, and transport equipment throughout lab and warehouse areas
- Clean, calibrate, and prepare equipment for testing and customer use
- Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming materials and test samples
- Inspect returned equipment for damage and functionality; document findings
- Set up and assist with laboratory testing equipment and procedures
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional lab environment
- Manage inventory of lab supplies and restock as needed
- Support lab staff with testing and equipment-related issues
- Interact professionally with customers and assist during visits or tours
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and operating procedures
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0–2 years of experience in a lab, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer and math skills
Hours:
- Monday – Friday
- 7:45am – 4:15pm
