Laboratory Technician I - PAT-BTR

• Assists with data organization and analysis.
• Assists with specimen storage and chemical waste management.
• Prepares and assists in the grossing of tissues.
• Receives and logs in daily shipments, stores appropriately, and notifies pertinent personnel. Ensures adequate inventory/supplies for laboratory use.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and performs general procedures such as monitoring, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
• Assists with slide digitization and organization.
• Documents testing results and records observations in accordance with good practice quality guidelines and regulations (GxP), standard operating procedures and protocol requirements.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

HJF is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to perform laboratory procedures to assist supervisors with various testing, assays, and experiments. Provides support in various areas of a laboratory as needed. Complies with laboratory quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) plans and procedures.

This position will be in support of DoW/USU Brain Tissue Repository (BTR) under the Department of Pathology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. The BTR was established by the Department of War to advance traumatic brain injury research. The BTR's mission is to better understand the effects of traumatic brain injury and promote overall brain health of the Warfighter. Using the best science, we support our service members and their families to help care for our military after a head injury.
