Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a team dedicated to providing quality analytical data to customers in a timely manner. This role is responsible for performing routine sample analysis, entering analytical data, and working closely with the Lab Maintenance Team to perform basic to advanced maintenance and repairs on laboratory equipment.


Job Description

  • Ensure the safe completion of all tasks and keep all related training up to date
  • High-volume analysis of semiconductor-grade gases for trace impurities using GC, FTIR, and other analytical instrumentation
  • Participate in other analyses as assigned by the analytical laboratory
  • Perform calibration and selected preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Communicate test results in a timely manner to support the manufacturing process
  • Interpretation of analytical data and report generation
  • Participate in the documentation of quality control standards and analytical results
  • Cross-train on a variety of analytical laboratory tests (product performance tests, GC, FTIR, etc.)
  • Responsible for the documentation of quality control standards and analytical results
  • Active participation in the optimization of sample cycle time and continuous laboratory improvements
  • Work with laboratory personnel and contacts to ensure supplies are maintained and instrument maintenance is appropriate for the laboratory
  • Build a knowledge base of laboratory instruments, including operation, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Duties include the safe handling of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals

 

Skills Required

  • 1 year of analytical lab experience.
  • Prior experience in Gas Chromatography, FTIR, and Compressed gas cylinders analysis is preferred
  • Proficient in computer skills such as LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Google platform and Spotfire or other SPC graphing tools is a plus.
  • Ability to be flexible and to switch tasks according to customer needs and priorities
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good computer skills are required (analytical instrumentation software, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with good communication skills
  • Must have initiative and be self-motivated
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with electronic gases and toxic and flammable gases: silane, diborane, DCS (dichlorosilane), nitrogen, oxygen, and helium compressed gases.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Associate’s degree in chemistry or Similar Science, with 1-3 years of industrial experience

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen & criminal background check 
  • Shift Hours:
    • 1st Shift,7:00 am-3:30 pm/10 am-6:30 pm; possible overtime after training is completed
    • Must be able to work 2nd, some holiday & weekend coverage

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors
