Job Summary: The Laboratory Technician will support the Microbial Repository under the direction of scientists and technicians. This role involves handling routine and non-routine laboratory tasks including sample management, lab organization, and assisting in various research activities. The candidate will ensure smooth day-to-day operations while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organization, and aseptic techniques. Key Responsibilities: Support Microbial Repository operations under supervision of scientists and technicians Perform routine and non-routine laboratory tasks Order laboratory supplies and maintain inventory Clean and organize lab areas to ensure compliance and efficiency Perform manual liquid transfers and operate automated liquid handling systems Store and retrieve samples from freezers and shakers Pick and prepare samples for delivery to customers Assist other laboratories when workload is lighter Collaborate with technicians and scientists to complete assigned tasks Maintain accurate records and follow laboratory protocols Required Skills: Prior experience in microbiology, biotechnology, biology, or related field Hands-on experience with aseptic techniques Strong organizational skills High attention to detail Good communication and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety standards Preferred Skills: Experience with automated liquid handling systems Exposure to laboratory automation tools Education: Associate’s Degree in Biotechnology or related science field OR Minimum 1 year of relevant laboratory experience Education: Associate's Degree
