Job Summary
The department of Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research is seeking a Laboratory Technician. This position will work with animal husbandry, peri-operation care and recording. Experience with rodent, piglet, or pig preferred.
Responsibilities include but not limited to routine bench work, including preparation of solutions, pipetting, and aliquoting; Processing of tissue samples, including animal perfusion, tissue collection, fixation, embedding, and slicing; Histological staining, including chemical or immuno-staining of processed tissue samples; Microscopic imaging: bright field, fluorescence, confocal imaging; Basic data analysis and data entry.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Microsoft office, basic laboratory procedures.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
Associate's degree plus one or more years experience with rodent, piglet or pig preferred.
