Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Mason, OH
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Schedule: M-F normal business hours
Compensation: $19.15/hr
Type: 4-month contract

Responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials for research and development of new products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences.
  • Optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and impactful results that can influence project outcomes.
  • Handle sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances, reporting findings to a laboratory manager.
  • Receive, label, and analyze samples (blood, toxic, tissue, etc.) ensuring proper documentation and safety protocols.
  • Design and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, make observations, and interpret findings to support research efforts.
  • Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify or reject hypotheses using refined scientific methodologies.
  • Organize and store chemicals, fluids, and compressed gases following safety instructions.
  • Record all data and results accurately in specified forms (paper and electronic).
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and assist in ordering supplies to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.

Requirements
  • Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of complex laboratory techniques, equipment, terminology, materials, and substances.
  • Skilled in the use of laboratory equipment, capable of creating and analyzing statistical calculations, and preparing reports.
  • Experience handling sensitive samples such as blood, tissue, or toxic substances is preferred.
