Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician 
Pay Rate: $25 per hour - $28 per hour, W 2
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Location: Morrisville, PA

Summary:

• Shift: 7am-3:30pm / 10am-6:30pm with possible overtime after training completed

Responsibilities:

• Sample log-in into data management system in a timely and accurate manner
• Sample preparation
• Analysis of routine samples on GC instruments
• Performing instrument maintenance as needed
• Processing results and entry into data management system
• Delivering/Transporting samples between labs as necessary
• Cleaning glassware
• Sample disposal and waste compilation
• Inventory tracking and purchasing of supplies
• Help implement 5S in the laboratories and work spaces
• Complete safety training and foster a safe working environment

Requirements:

• Capable of learning, understanding, and following SOPs to perform assigned duties
• Ability to understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other employees
• Must have initiative and be self-motivated
• Good verbal and written skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work under time pressure
• Ability to change plans and work environment on short notice
• Must be able to lift 50lb loads with the help of coworkers
• Associates Degree in Chemistry or Similar Science
• Minimum 1 year of industrial experience

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with electronic gases and toxic and flammable gases: silane, diborane, dcs dichlorosilane, nitrogen, oxygen, and silium compressed gases
