Laboratory Technician

Job location:New York, NY 10065

Shift: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM

Length: 5 months, Possible extension

\n

Pay: $20 -$25/hr

\n

Required Qualifications:

\n

HS Diploma/GED

\n

1–2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory as a Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Assistant, or related position

\n

\n

Job Responsibilities:

\n

Process, accession, and enter patient specimen information into the laboratory computer system.

\n

Review test orders, requisitions, patient identification, and specimens for accuracy and completeness.

\n

Centrifuge, aliquot, sort, and prepare specimens for testing or shipment to reference laboratories.

\n

Prioritize and process STAT/RUSH specimens and perform waived laboratory testing as assigned.

\n

Follow laboratory and HIPAA guidelines while maintaining quality, accuracy, patient safety, and accurate records.
