Job: Laboratory Technician
Location: Decatur, IL
Duration: 6 Months+ Contract


Job Duties:
  • Prepare process and finished product samples.
  • Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.
  • Record results using computerized data systems.
  • Perform daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant as assigned.
  • Maintain samples of tested product to confirm test results if necessary.
  • Document results of all testing procedures.
  • Promptly notify operations of required adjustments.
  • Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Understand production processes required in the production of product.
  • Make recommendations to operators to achieve product quality.
  • Perform light maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain ongoing records of all testing procedures.
  • Input testing data into computer systems on a daily basis.
  • Maintain adequate supplies used for testing procedures.
  • Notify the supervisor of the need to reorder supplies.
  • Compare equipment readouts with standard samples to ensure accurate operation.
