Job
Summary
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for
performing materials testing and documentation across Asphalt, Soils, and
Concrete disciplines in support of FDOT-compliant construction projects. This
hands-on role works closely with field inspectors, project engineers, and plant
personnel to ensure material quality and specification compliance. This
position offers a clear pathway to grow into an Asphalt Plant Inspector role
for motivated individuals.
Key
Responsibilities
• Perform standardized laboratory and field tests
on soils, and concrete materials in accordance with FDOT, AASHTO, and
ASTM standards.
• Accurately document test results.
• Maintain, calibrate, and inspect laboratory
equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Enter test data into laboratory Information management software.
• Identify and report any deviations,
non-conformances, or quality concerns.
• Adhere to safety protocols and environmental
compliance requirements.

Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical
