The Laborer, Building Class A is responsible to the Facility Engineering Supervisor for performing maintenance duties as assigned, under minimum supervision, and consults with Facility Engineering Supervisor only for the initial job assignment and where departures from standard practices are involved. This position is considered mission essential and may be required to report for duty to support emergency conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, or sanitary systems.
  • May also perform general maintenance of the establishment''s machinery.
  • Require basic analysis, judgment and practical knowledge of several maintenance trades, department, company and government policies and procedures.
  • Keep in good repair building woodwork
  • Replace electrical switches, fixtures, and motors
  • Occasionally paint or touches up structures and equipment
  • Repair or replace plumbing fixtures
  • Replace broken window panes
  • Respond to overtime or off-duty recalls from designated company authority to meet priority or emergency work requirements.
  • Assure the protection of surrounding work areas and the overall operation is within guidelines of required safety rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Physical Science.
  • Master''s degree. Preferred.
  • Minimum Ten (10) years management experience with background in military operations.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver''s license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
  • Ability to manage, organize, and direct the elements of a multi-functional activity including planning, procedure development and resource management.
  • Possess organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
