Shift: 1st Shift | 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Pay: $20.00/hour
Job Overview
We're hiring a dependable General Laborer to support daily operations at a landfill facility. This is a hands-on, outdoor position that helps keep the site running safely and efficiently. If you enjoy physical work, don't mind working outside in various weather conditions, and take pride in keeping a worksite clean and organized, we'd like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties throughout the landfill site.
- Load, unload, lift, and move materials as needed.
- Assist with site cleanup and maintenance.
- Dig and refill holes when required.
- Mow grass, trim vegetation, and help maintain the property.
- Assist with basic equipment operation under supervision.
- Support drivers, equipment operators, and other team members with daily tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete other duties as assigned by site leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous labor, construction, landscaping, warehouse, manufacturing, or outdoor work experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
This position is based at an active landfill and is primarily performed outdoors. Employees should be comfortable working around:
- Dirt, dust, odors, and noise
- Hot, cold, wet, and other changing weather conditions
- Heavy equipment and moving vehicles
- Uneven terrain
The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and moving materials weighing up to 30 pounds throughout the workday.
