You will perform a variety of physical and hands-on tasks that support the safe and efficient operation of our aggregate plant. You will operate equipment, complete daily maintenance and cleanup activities, and work as part of a team to meet production goals while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
What you will be doing
- Complete routine tasks such as shoveling gravel, managing dust control, cleaning the yard, inspecting machinery, loading and unloading materials, storing inventory, and maintaining overall facility cleanliness
- Back up equipment operators as needed to support production goals
- Perform minor maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment
- Use a variety of hand tools to complete daily job requirements
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet operational priorities and cross-train in other roles as needed
- Maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment through housekeeping and maintenance activities
- Conduct regular plant walk-throughs to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and verify completed repairs
- Complete required paperwork, identify improvement opportunities, and report issues to the Foreman
- Stay current with MSHA regulations and BURNCO safety policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What we would like from you
- Ability to use power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and safety devices
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively in small teams with minimal supervision
- Basic mechanical aptitude and solid math skills
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and weekends as needed
- Experience in the aggregate industry and welding considered an asset
- Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a plant environment preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Location and other key details:
- This is a full-time permanent field-based position at our Nissen Location, 23400 County Road 58, Greeley, CO
- Position involves working 12-hour shifts with weekend hours as necessary
- This is a safety sensitive position, offers of employment are conditional on successful completion of fitness for duty assessments, including drug and alcohol screening and a criminal background check
- Travel to various job sites required as needed – less than 10%
- Regular outdoor work with exposure to a range of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Regular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials
- Required personal protective equipment (PPE) includes safety shoes above the ankles, safety vest, safety glasses, ear plugs, and hard hat; additional PPE for special jobs as required
- Constantly required to stand, walk, use fine and gross motor skills, maintain hand-eye coordination, and use both near and far vision
- Frequently required to climb, kneel, bend, reach, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, push, pull, and use manual dexterity to perform job duties safely and effectively
Salary Range: $21/ hr and up with experience
