Position Summary
The Laborer supports field crews in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic cable, conduit, and aerial or underground systems. This entry-level role assists with site preparation, material handling, and general construction tasks to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with installation of fiber optic cable, conduit, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Perform general labor tasks: digging, trenching, backfilling, and site restoration.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Safely operate basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Assist directional drill, aerial, or underground crews as needed.
  • Set up traffic control devices and help maintain a safe work zone.
  • Clean job sites and ensure proper restoration.
  • Follow OSHA and always company safety guidelines.
  • Support crew leads and supervisors with daily tasks and production goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • · Prior construction or outdoor labor experience preferred, not required
  • · Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • · Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • · Basic mechanical aptitude
  • · Valid driver's license preferred
  • · CDL a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Experience

  • Telecom, fiber optic, or utility construction
  • Experience working around underground utilities
  • Familiarity with hand digging and trenching
  • Experience setting up traffic control
