    Job Description

    About the role

    The General Laborer supports daily operations throughout Sutton Salvage's recycling facility by assisting with material sorting, quality control, housekeeping, equipment observation, and general production activities. Employees may be assigned to various departments, including the shredder, eddy current, or other processing areas, based on operational needs.

    This position plays an important role in maintaining safe operations, producing quality materials, supporting efficient production flow, and keeping work areas clean and organized. Successful employees are safety-focused, dependable, and willing to assist wherever needed.

    What you'll do
    • Inspect and sort recyclable materials to ensure quality standards are met.
    • Remove contaminants and debris from processed materials and work areas.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
    • Observe equipment during operation and report maintenance or safety concerns.
    • Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
    • Assist with production activities, department projects, and general facility operations.
    • Provide friendly, professional customer service when interacting with customers.
    • Work effectively as part of a team while supporting daily production goals.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Ability to perform physical labor in an industrial environment.
    • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality.
    • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work in various departments as business needs require.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, lift, and work around heavy equipment in varying weather conditions.

    Compensation Structure:

    $18.00–$20.00 per hour, DOE
