Laborer

EHC is seeking a Helper / Laborer for a Client in the Livingston Area

Position Summary

The Helper / Laborer supports daily shop and field operations by assisting skilled trades personnel, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and performing general labor duties. This role is responsible for facility upkeep, equipment staging, material handling, and assisting with blasting, painting, and tank preparation activities. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable performing physically demanding work in industrial and shop environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through daily housekeeping activities.
• Record and maintain daily logs of shop atmospheric conditions, including temperature and humidity.
• Serve as hole watch personnel when required.
• Assist blasters and painters with tank preparation, including taping flanges and surface preparation.
• Sand painted and rubber-lined tank and piping surfaces as directed.
• Provide tools, materials, and support to skilled trades personnel.
• Assist with staging equipment and loading/unloading tanks, materials, and supplies.
• Load and unload tools, equipment, and job materials from trucks.
• Cut and prepare protective flange face and manway covers for shipment.
• Perform site preparation activities in both shop and field environments.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with supervisors and team members.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an industrial shop, manufacturing environment, chemical plant, or similar setting.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Current TWIC card required.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting blasting, painting, tank maintenance, or industrial fabrication operations.
• Experience with equipment staging, material handling, and shipment preparation.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
