Laborer

Overview:

APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full-Time Regular (FTR)

LOCATION: Oak Ridge, TN (On-Site)

SALARY RANGE: $18.23 - $24.37/per hour

 

PURPOSE: Provide general labor and basic facilities support services for building maintenance, grounds activities, furniture moving, material handling, and small repair projects. Perform routine manual work under direct supervision while following established safety procedures and supporting maintenance personnel as needed. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist maintenance staff with routine building maintenance and repair activities
• Move furniture, equipment, tools, and materials for office relocations and project work
• Perform basic internal and exterior cleanup duties
• Perform routine interior and exterior housekeeping, debris removal, and worksite cleanup
• Assist with minor painting, patching, and simple carpentry-related tasks
• Provide Logistics Group support with equipment and property movements and other labor-related tasks
• Operate basic hand tools and equipment and assist with loading/unloading deliveries
• Perform basic administrative and computer tasks

 

Qualifications:

High school diploma (or equivalent) and 1 to 2 years of job-related experience. Higher level education above minimum may count for additional experience

 

Requires a basic working knowledge of general labor and facility support duties. Requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, safely use common hand tools, and complete physically demanding work assignments. Must be able to work independently on routine assignments after instruction and coordinate effectively with maintenance personnel and supervisors. 

 

Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

 

• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and equipment
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Ability to perform manual labor indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to work from ladders and perform repetitive physical tasks
