BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Have the ability to perform the work of a Laborer (Maintenance), without more than normal supervision. Following oral or written instructions and/or work orders; replacing ceiling tile, washing windows, unplugging drains with plunger, changing light bulbs, hauling materials and supplies to restock store rooms; performing janitorial/custodial duties such as, emptying outdoor trash bins, picking up trash, cleaning work areas and grounds and cleaning windows, and grounds maintenance duties, including mowing, trimming, blowing clippings, washing off entrances, landscaping, performing ice and snow removal from sidewalks and entrance ways; performing cleanup of spills, debris, and litter from outside areas and in maintenance areas, operate high-pressure washers, large riding mowers, chainsaws, jackhammers, and industrial cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and shampooers. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. Working Conditions: Position requires work both indoors and outdoors with frequent exposure to weather and temperature extremes, drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Work may be performed in government quarters, field clinics, and hospital areas. Duties require extreme care and the use of appropriate safety equipment such as gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, respirators, and steel-toed shoes.
