Laborer

Brayman Construction is currently searching for a Shop & Yard laborer to add to our team in Saxonburg, PA.

Must be a team player and have the willingness to learn new skills.

The laborer role is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities for Laborer:

• Assist with daily operations in the shop and yard, including material handling, site upkeep, and equipment organization.
• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently using proper procedures and equipment.
• Support basic maintenance and minor repair tasks on tools, equipment, and shop assets.
• Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the facility by sweeping, washing, painting, pressure cleaning, and removing debris as needed.
• Help track inventory levels and organize parts, supplies, and tools to ensure materials are readily available.
• Perform surface preparation tasks such as sanding, blasting, and coating support work.
• Operate company vehicles for local pickups and deliveries when required; occasional overnight travel may occur approximately once per month.
• Carry out additional shop, warehouse, or yard duties assigned by supervisors to support operations.

Qualifications & Skills for Laborer:

• Able to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods during shifts.
• Capable of safely lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to safety procedures and awareness of surroundings in an active work environment.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
• Willingness to learn equipment handling practices and shop procedures.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team in fast-paced conditions.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Clean driving history required; applicants must be at least 21 years old to operate company commercial vehicles for interstate travel (non-CDL).

Education & Experience for Laborer:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a warehouse, shop, yard, or general labor environment is a plus.
• Valid driver's license required.

Safety Sensitive Position:

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects, and in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
