Description
If you’re willing to learn, comfortable working around water, and enjoy operating equipment and working outdoors, this could be a great opportunity for you. This role offers room for growth and hands-on experience with equipment and environmental maintenance.
This position works under the direct supervision of the Crew Lead and is a field-based role that plays an important part in the efficient and successful completion of work in the field. While each project may vary, the technician’s responsibilities generally include the following:
Responsibilities
Assist the foreman with all aspects of pond maintenance services
Mow and string trim slopes and pond basins
Selectively remove invasive plants around ponds
Operate large brush-cutting equipment and other tools as needed
Load and unload heavy equipment and plant materials from trucks
Collect and secure company-owned equipment and tools at the end of the day
Assist other divisions, such as inspection or repair teams, as needed
Requirements
1+ year of experience in lake or pond maintenance, landscaping, commercial mowing, turf management, or pesticide application preferred
Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to walk on steep slopes for extended periods
Ability to bend and stoop frequently throughout the workday
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Comfortable working around environmental factors such as bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other natural hazards
Must follow all safety practices when handling chemicals and equipment
Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others
