The CDL Driver/ Laborer supports telecom construction crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground fiber optic and utility infrastructure. This role assists with site preparation, trenching, conduit placement, and general labor duties to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate CDL vehicles to transport personnel, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
Load, unload, and secure construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Assist crews with underground and aerial telecom construction projects.
Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and restoration activities.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and light construction equipment.
Install and maintain telecommunications infrastructure, including conduit, cable, pedestals, handholes, and utility structures.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate DOT logs and documentation.
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and DOT requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, vehicles, and equipment.
Assist with traffic control and site setup activities as required.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
Qualifications
Required
Valid CDL Class A with a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight travel as needed.
Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
Previous experience in telecommunications, utility construction, or underground/aerial line work.
Experience operating equipment such as excavators, skid steers, trenchers, or directional drills.
Knowledge of fiber optic and coaxial cable installation practices.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Physical Requirements
Frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
Ability to work in confined spaces and around active construction sites.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
