Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the assigned site Program Manager, with additional lead work direction from the Associate Director of Pre-Collegiate Programs, the Sonoma and Napa Region Pre-Collegiate Program Assistant provides academic, operational, and motivational support to Upward Bound and Academic Talent Search program participants in grades 6 through 12, and/or assist with programmatic needs to support individual programs to meet their annual objectives.

Duties take place mostly in an office setting at Fort Bragg High School and off site at target high schools throughout Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma Counties. The role involves frequent interaction with students, families, school partners, and campus departments in a professional office setting, with travel within the corresponding counties for meetings, trainings, and program events. Evening or weekend work may be required during recruitment, reporting, or summer programming to meet operational needs.

Key Qualifications

This position requires two years' experience working with working with a diverse participant population, including those from at-risk, low-income, first-generation backgrounds. Incumbent is required to demonstrate ability to communicate in a professional manner with participants in grades 6 through 12, parents, schools, and business professionals. Proficiency in typing and with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and/or Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides) programs required. Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred. The incumbent must successfully clear a fingerprint clearance.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $17 to $24 per hour. This is a part time, temporary, non-exempt position. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.
